Welcome to Breath Pace. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices. This Privacy Policy explains how Breath Pace ("we," "our," or "us") handles information when you use our iOS breathing and meditation application (the "App").

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Data We Do NOT Collect

Breath Pace does not collect any personal information or usage data. Specifically, we do not collect:

• Personal identification information (name, email address, phone number, etc.)
• Usage analytics or app interaction data
• Location data or device location
• Health data or breathing session metrics
• Photos, contacts, or other device data
• Advertising identifiers or tracking data
• Device information beyond what iOS requires for functionality
• IP addresses or network information

2.2 Data Stored Locally on Your Device

Breath Pace stores the following information locally on your device only using Apple's secure UserDefaults storage system:

• Breathing Profiles: Custom breathing patterns you create, including inhale/exhale durations and hold times
• Session Settings: Your preferences for:
  • Audio cue types (Wave, Breath, or Gong sounds)
  • Visual guide preferences (Flower or Waveform animations)
  • Haptic feedback settings
  • Session duration preferences
  • Audio enabled/disabled state
• Onboarding Status: A flag indicating whether you have completed the welcome screen

Important: This data never leaves your device. It is not transmitted to our servers, cloud services, or any third parties. We have no access to this information.

3. How We Use Information

Since we do not collect any data from you, there is no usage of your information on our end. The data stored locally on your device is used solely to:

• Remember your preferred breathing patterns and profiles
• Maintain your audio, visual, and haptic preferences between sessions
• Provide you with a personalized breathing practice experience
• Avoid showing you the welcome screen on subsequent app launches

All processing happens entirely on your device.

4. Device Permissions

Breath Pace requests access to the following device capabilities to provide its core functionality:

4.1 Audio Playback

The App uses your device's audio system (AVAudioEngine) to play breathing guidance sounds during sessions. We do not access your microphone or record any audio. This permission allows output only.

4.2 Haptic Feedback (Vibrations)

The App uses Core Haptics to provide gentle vibration cues during breathing exercises. This helps guide your breathing rhythm without requiring you to look at your screen.

4.3 Permissions We Do NOT Request

Breath Pace does not request access to:

• Camera or photo library
• Microphone or audio recording
• Location services
• Health app (HealthKit) data
• Contacts or calendar
• Network connections (the App works entirely offline)
• Notifications (unless you enable them in iOS Settings)

5. Data Sharing and Third Parties

Breath Pace does not:

• Use any third-party analytics services (no Google Analytics, Firebase, Mixpanel, etc.)
• Include any advertising networks or ad tracking
• Integrate with social media platforms
• Send data to cloud services or external servers
• Share information with data brokers or marketing companies
• Use third-party SDKs beyond Apple's standard iOS frameworks

The App functions entirely offline and does not require an internet connection to operate.

6. Data Security

All app data is stored locally on your device using Apple's UserDefaults, which is protected by iOS's built-in security features:

• Device Encryption: When you use a passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID, all app data is encrypted on your device
• App Sandboxing: iOS automatically isolates app data, preventing other apps from accessing your Breath Pace settings
• No Network Transmission: Since data never leaves your device, there is no risk of interception during transmission

We have designed Breath Pace to be secure by default through data minimization—the best way to protect your data is not to collect it in the first place.

7. Children's Privacy

Breath Pace does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13 years of age. The App is designed for general audiences and does not require any personal information to function.

Parents and guardians can confidently allow children to use Breath Pace knowing that:

• No personal information is collected
• No accounts or registration are required
• The App works entirely offline
• There is no communication with external parties

8. Data Retention and Deletion

8.1 How Long Data is Stored

Your locally stored preferences and breathing profiles remain on your device until you:

• Delete the Breath Pace app from your device, or
• Manually reset your breathing profiles within the app

8.2 How to Delete Your Data

You have complete control over your data. To delete all Breath Pace data:

1. Delete the App: Press and hold the Breath Pace icon on your home screen, then tap "Remove App" and select "Delete App." This permanently removes all app data from your device.
2. Reset Individual Profiles: Within the App settings, you can delete custom breathing profiles individually.

Since we do not store any data on our servers, there is nothing for us to delete on our end. All data deletion happens locally on your device.

9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) provides you with specific rights regarding your personal information. However, since Breath Pace does not collect any personal information, these rights are not applicable.

For transparency:

• Right to Know: We do not collect any personal information about you
• Right to Delete: Not applicable, as we have no data to delete
• Right to Opt-Out of Sale: We do not sell personal information
• Right to Non-Discrimination: We do not discriminate based on privacy rights

10. European Privacy Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) provides you with certain rights regarding your personal data.

Since Breath Pace does not collect or process any personal data:

• We are not a data controller or processor under GDPR
• No personal data is transferred outside the EEA
• GDPR rights (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection) are not applicable as we hold no data
• No legal basis for processing is required as no processing occurs

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect:

• Improvements to our privacy practices

When we make changes:

Breath Pace is available worldwide through the Apple App Store. Regardless of your location:

Breath Pace does not contain any links to third-party websites, services, or applications. The App is entirely self-contained.

• No Account Required: Use the App without creating an account or providing any information
• Offline Functionality: The App works without an internet connection
• Easy Deletion: Remove all data by simply deleting the App

By downloading, installing, or using Breath Pace, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.
